“About five years ago, I experienced severe burning and pain in my throat that was flagged for precancer by my doctor. After being cleared through testing and given no diagnosis as to the cause, I was told to return in 5 years to recheck it. Recently the burning and pain in my throat and stomach returned (accompanied by extremely painful eczema on my hands), and beyond the physical pain, it also triggered a constant sense of deep fear, anger, and anxiety within me that it could be something much worse like potential cancer.

Shortly after my symptoms returned, I began working with Steve. After a month of working with him, the constant burning and pain are gone, and my hands are healing. I feel so much more focused on the positive and comforted in knowing that it is under my control to a degree and that I don’t need anything except what I’ve got going on in my head and heart. If the pain does come up sporadically, I now look to how I can meditate or release some of the stress/anger that might be causing it, and I don’t spiral into the fear I would have had a month ago.

The emotional leveling I have found through this process has been so valuable to me—fear and anxiety are not playing a factor in my day anymore. I’ve just been thinking so much more about sunshine, and I’ve had moments of clarity where I can remember what it was like before I was afraid! Before the fear, I felt a certain way about things like summer break and the dust particles you can see when the sun streams in, and I’d lost that kind of detail of life, but that’s what’s breaking through. I feel lighter. I'm fully accepting things now that I've known and appreciated in the past, but apparently weren't being allowed to sit naturally within me.

That 'win' has changed every aspect of my life because it allows me to trust myself and experience feelings of gratitude, patience, and inquisitiveness.
